The Witcher Meets Water Magic: how ARIS Supplies CD PROJECT with Rain

Spoiler Alert: We are Extremely Proud of this Project!

There are projects where you immediately know: This will be something very special. This was exactly the case with this one. From the initial design to the last component, the ARIS team worked with heart and high pressure on a tailor-made solution. A big thank you at this point to our partner Green Water Solutions – for the smooth cooperation.

But first things first …

A Call from the Gaming World: CD PROJECT is Building the Future

In January 2024, an exciting request knocked on our door: CD PROJECT – the developer legends behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 – were planning an expansion of their forward-looking headquarters in Warsaw. Namely, a state-of-the-art, six-story office building including an underground parking garage, built by Skanska, one of the top players in the construction industry.

What’s special about it? Everything.
From lush green facades to wooden loggias to the chillout zone on the roof – this is a showcase project in terms of sustainability, design and smart building technology.

A high-tech workplace will be created on over 6,000 m², where rainwater will also make a big appearance. And that’s exactly where we come into play – not in the virtual world, but in reality.

Level-Up for Rainwater: our Technology behind the Scenes

Our mission: A coordinated rainwater utilization system that supplies both the toilets and keeps the green outer skin of the building fresh.

Step 1: Filtering like a pro: It all starts just before the tank. There, the collected rainwater is sent through our specially developed and patented ARIS LUPO filter system. There was even a custom-made special version for this project – without the usual overflow.

Step 2: Pump it like ARIS: We continue with our robust charging pump, which transports the water to the control center – more precisely to the ARIS ARGUS rainwater control center. This is where the magic happens: The water is cleverly distributed, monitored and controlled. Like a director who makes sure that every drop lands exactly where it should.

Two Water Sources, Double the Challenge

In addition to rainwater, greywater (i.e. slightly polluted water e.g. from showers) also plays a role. But: According to the specifications, only rainwater was permitted for the irrigation of the plant facade.

Our solution: We have programmed the ARIS control system in such a way that it strictly separates rainwater and greywater – and at the same time optimally uses both sources. Since the rainwater and greywater tanks are at different heights, this requires two pressure stages. Challenge? Yes. Feasible? Also yes – with brains and technology.

Color Accents for the Wow Effect: ARIS ADD Blue

Rainwater in the toilet? A thought that takes some getting used to for some. But with ARIS ADD Blue, even that becomes an eye-catcher: The water gets a subtle blue tint.

Speedrun to Completion – 10 Weeks to the Finish

The deadline was tight: We had just 10 weeks from order to delivery. And what can we say? Mission accomplished – including all components, custom-made products and fine-tuning.

Technology that Inspires – Here are the Key Facts:

  • Rainwater control center: ARIS ARGUS 9eco R
  • Pumps: 4 pieces (2 for the operating point active, 1 speed-controlled)
  • Filter: Special version of the ARIS LUPO 1000/150 and ARIS LUPO 1000/200
  • Control system: including Modbus connection & filter monitoring
  • Two pressure stages for the parallel supply from rainwater and greywater sources
  • ADD Blue for color-coded toilet rainwater
